Ease Learning Launches Free Resources to Help Ease the Move to Online Learning
Derry, NH, - March 31, 2020 - Ease Learning, a learning design firm focused on creating exceptional online learning experiences, announced today, a new series of free, self-paced learning units to help anyone who is moving to an online learning environment amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. “Moving Online: Maintaining Quality, Scaling Up and Easing the Transition” is a three-part series created by the Learning Design team at Ease Learning. Series One, “Going Online with Ease”, is now available.
For many colleges, this is the first time their online presence has experienced this level of scale and for many students this is the first time they’ve had a 100% fully online learning experience. The modules are a great first step to support this transition by helping higher ed faculty and staff who may be new or less familiar with online learning to build and deliver engaging experiences for students and adopt best practices in online teaching.
In response to hearing from many higher ed. faculty and staff struggling to bring their courses online, Ease Learning developed this free resource for anyone who is unexpectedly moving to the virtual learning environment. Each series consists of short, self-paced units that cover a wide range of topics. Participants can enroll in an individual module or the entire series. These resources are designed to build the skills and confidence needed to help maximize online student engagement and drive positive learning outcomes.
As most institutions are recognizing the transition to the online learning environment is likely to be a longer term necessity and not just a short-term stop gap, it’s important to acknowledge the role that a strong partnership between faculty and learning designers has in making the leap from going online to creating a scalable online program. This is a very important factor for sustaining effective learning in this modality.
The new series, launched today, is an example of the long standing commitment Ease Learning has to creating effective, measurable and scalable learning experiences and supporting the partnership between faculty and learning design. For institutions that are looking for a deeper layer of support beyond the free learning units, Ease Learning continues to offer different levels of paid consultation options.
“We understand that the current, sudden push to online learning has forced many educators and students into unfamiliar territory in a very short period of time. We hope to ease the immediate barriers for those making this shift, but we are also committed to the longer term partnership between faculty and learning designers that creates the most effective learning experiences for learners, which is why we launched our free series today. We also recognize that some institutions will want a deeper layer of support and those schools can tap into paid consultations with our design staff” said Laurie Pulido, CEO of Ease Learning. “By moving to virtual learning, the higher education community can continue to support their students and keep them connected to their faculty and fellow students and at the same time, bring some stability to their education. Our hope is that our free series will be used by as many faculty and staff as possible. The new resources in combination with consultation with our learning design team is an example of our long standing commitment as an organization. We are here to help institutions create an outstanding online experience for both faculty and students rather than to just “go online”, an important distinction and one that sets the foundation for long-term success.”
